ISV has been recognized and awarded for our outstanding achievements in many countries across the world. From official government recognition, to news reports, to a simple “thank you” from small organizations who we support, we are proud of the achievements of our volunteers, and our dedicated staff who are committed to making a meaningful difference in their host country.
Sept 2011, Barcelona Spain: ISV received the prestigious OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER PROJECT award from the World Youth Student Travel Awards, given by the world’s largest youth travel confederation. Out of hundreds of members from the World Youth Student & Educational Travel Confederation (WYSE), ISV’s Community Development Project in the fishing village of San Juanillo, Costa Rica was selected as the most meaningful and powerful volunteer project by the global travel community. The San Juanillo project assists the local artisanal fishermen's association in providing a sustainable income for their community while protecting their natural resources. We often get fantastic feedback from our host organizations. Here is a message from a valued partner who ISV works with in Australia to complete important conservation initiatives.
"The work done by our international students each is quite phenomenal. Coming from all over the world and without knowing one another they work well as a team or in smaller groups or as individuals. This allows Wild Mountains to achieve getting stuck into a variety of tasks that are essential to achieving our outcomes, not only for the year but for the long term. It’s hard work, hard play and good fun and their attitude is fantastic. Looking forward to another year. Thanks."
Richard Zoomers, President Wild Mountains.
