Andre and friends on project in New Zealand

Describe your volunteer project:

With Kuaka, we planted trees in two different locations, worked with elementary kids for a day and went trekking behind our lodging to place bait for possums.

What was your favorite thing about your host country?

My favorite thing about New Zealand would have to be the breathtaking sights and landscapes. Everywhere you went, there was something beautiful to set your gaze upon. Cathedral Cove is a mere example of what beauty lies within New Zealand.

What did you learn from your ISV Program?

From my program, I learned that if we all do our part to make the world a better place for our children to set foot upon, we can ensure a future where pollution can be minimized, deforestation can be stopped, and so many more possibilities that, if given the proper attention, can be solved. It has also taught me that one person can make a great impact and cause others to follow in their footsteps.

The top 5 reasons to travel with ISV are:

  1. Great opportunity to see the world
  2. Make a difference in different parts of the world
  3. Make wonderful new friends
  4. Have fun making people smile
  5. Doing exciting things in beautiful places
