Talk about getting off to a great start: imagine hiking down a mountain, crossing knee deep streams and gazing upon mountains from all sides. And this is just to get to the project! We have just launched a new project called the "Life Development Center" and it is taking the volunteer experience to a whole new level.
Challenge and inspire yourself with two weeks of building a community learning center and working with underprivileged children in an authentic Karen village near the Burmese border while enjoying your home away from home, living in an open traditional Thai elevated bamboo house.
Surround yourself with views of the valley, small mountain streams and the serenity of indigenous people and a simple lifestyle. Spend your time exploring and eating fresh from local markets and picking fresh fruit right off the trees. Need a hot shower? Then jump on pedal-operated generator and heat up your water - what an experience!
Who says that making an impact on your world can’t be fun? This is so going to be a great project experience. With an open mind, a good pair of shoes and some enthusiasm for helping people better their communities, there is no limit to what this type of project experience can offer. I hope you will join me in Thailand, so that I can share my country and my culture with you and so that together we can give back!
