Ocean Rafting sounds a lot like hard work, but the reality is that it is an exhilarating and relaxing full day trip through the Whitsunday Islands as part of the Australian Adventure Tour.

Ocean Rafting is part if the Australian Optional Activity Package and it consistently rates in the top two highest evaluated activities by participants. This eco-adventure starts when you board the specially-designed pontoon speedboat (the ocean “raft”) and depart the Airlie Beach area for an exhilarating boat ride through the Whitsunday Islands.

On this day’s trip we visit two different snorkelling destinations of pristine coral reefs between the 74 islands that make up the Whitsundays. Part of the World Heritage Listed Great Barrier Reef, the coral reefs around the Whitsunday Islands are fringing reef which offer a different experience to the species seen in the reefs off the coast of Cairns. You will experience an abundance of marine life and view some amazing coral.

After snorkelling you will jump back on the boat and be whisked away to explore, have lunch and relax on Whitehaven Beach. As we travel, keep an eye out for whales and turtles which are regularly spotted by ISV groups. Whitehaven Beach is known for its white sand which is 98% silica which is the reason it is so white. The aboriginal name for Whitehaven Beach means “Whispering Sand”. Our groups love to hike to a lookout, play frisbee, beach rugby or footy, swim or walk barefoot on the sand. You will have to join the Optional Activity Package to experience this “Whispering” for yourself.
