Discover Costa Rica, one of the most bio-diverse places in the world; ISV volunteer projects demonstrate how people and nature are inextricably linked. One of ISV's Costa Rican Projects was recently awarded "Outstanding Project of the Year" at the World Youth and Student Travel Awards.

Custom Group Trips

Tailor your own volunteer/adventure experience to suit your group's requirements.

If you are part of a group looking to volunteer and make a difference, ISV can customize a program to suit your needs, provided your area of interest fits with our mission. ISV volunteer projects aim to contribute to sustainable development with a focus on environmental conservation and social community development.

Our projects are normally 2 weeks in duration; however, ISV can also create customized programs of varying lengths and focus areas that will exceed your expectations. Group sizes range from a minimum of 8 volunteers (depending on the project and your group needs). Contact ISV with your enquiry and group trip needs. Let us know what type of trip you would like and we'll put the perfect program together for your group.

Skilled Group Trip: Sea Turtle Conservation

Skilled Group Trip: Sea Turtle Conservation

Aside from the numerous specialty group trips listed below, ISV offers a unique experience for volunteers with Pre-Veterinary, Veterinary, Marine Biology, or Zoology  training and skills. Spend 2 weeks on the Caribbean coast of southern Costa Rica conducting scientific research on endangered sea turtles. Receive training and participate in data collection to help with tasks that may include turtle counts, tagging, habitat characterization, tissue sampling for DNA analysis, reef surveys and beach clean-ups. If you would like to volunteer on one of these projects as a group, or an individual, please contact the ISV office.  Please note there may be specific eligibility requirements depending on the project needs.  A group size of at least eight volunteers is required to run this project.  Contact the Office for details.
