The ISV New Zealand Experience

New Zealand is known as the adventure capital of the world! Learn about and experience geothermal pools, rugged volcanic mountain ranges, gorgeous beaches, glaciers, as well as the fascinating Maori culture in Aotearoa, New Zealand - the land of the long white cloud. 

As a volunteer in New Zealand, you will be working to protect and rehabilitate some of the most beautiful landscapes on Earth. Adventure tour activities may include black water rafting in glow worm caves, exploring the thermal wonders of Rotorua, hiking on the Franz Josef Glacier, white water rafting rapids on the Kaituna River, experiencing the true kiwi night life in Wellington and Queenstown, and globe riding with Zorb!

Throughout your entire ISV journey, we will introduce you to the world famous dramatic scenery, unique wildlife and welcoming locals that are uniquely New Zealand. If you wish to extend your adventure into Fiji, we offer you beautiful tropical beaches, snorkeling and sailing on a luxury catamaran.

Volunteer Projects

First 2 weeks
Protect native species and assist with environmental education and sustainability

• Conservation of nature sanctuaries
• Habitat restoration
• Protection of endangered species such as the iconic kiwi bird
• Scientific research within fragile environments
• Planting native species in beautiful landscapes
• Assisting with various conservation initiatives
• Environmental education for community members
• Sustainable tourism development
• Invasive species removal to protect native plants and animals

Adventure Tour

Second 2 weeks
Travel across both North & South Islands for the adrenaline experience of a lifetime

• Black water rafting in glow worm caves
• Bathing in the geothermal mud pools of Rotorua
• Hiking on the Franz Josef Glacier
• White water rafting the rapids of the Kaituna River
• Exploring the cultural attractions and nightlife of Wellington
• Globe-rolling downhill inside a giant Zorb ball (so much fun!)
• Drive through the dramatic Tongariro National Park and World Heritage site
• Jet boating through the Shotover Canyon
• Experiencing Queenstown (the adrenaline capital of the world)

Fiji Excursion

Set sail on a journey of discovery through the jewels of the South Pacific!

After your stay in New Zealand, youíll have the opportunity to spend 6 days on the beautiful tropical islands of Fiji! You will have the chance to relax and unwind after your amazing adventure as you snorkel, SCUBA and sail around this island paradise.
