Siem Reap

By land, travel from Bangkok direct to Siem Reap, the gateway to the Angkor region of Cambodia. This small city is home to traditional Chinese and French colonial architecture and boasts an array of markets and craft shops. After settling into our accommodations for the next 5 nights, we'll experience our first taste of Khmer (Cambodian) culture by tantalizing our taste buds with an array of traditional foods.

Explore Angkor Thom & Angkor Wat by Bicycle

We start our bicycle tour visiting the royal city of Angkor Thom. Within Angkor Thom, see the giant, well preserved stone faces of Bayon that are a haunting reminder of the previous empire that once thrived here. After lunch, we'll visit the magnificent Angkor Wat. Visually, architecturally and artistically breathtaking, it is a massive three-tiered pyramid crowned by five lotus-like towers rising over 65m from ground level. Enjoy magnificent views from atop one of the many temples and return to the city for a free evening.

Community village tour

Gain an insight into Cambodian rural life by visiting Knapor village: a proven model of responsible tourism. As part of this action-packed full day excursion we’ll visit a local school, ride in an ox-cart, visit the homes of Khmer families and take a guided walk around the village. Depending on the time of year you’ll also get to take part in typical daily activities such as weaving, gardening and farming. At lunch, enjoy cooking and eating Khmer food with the locals. We’ll also stop at a Buddhist temple to receive a monk blessing as well as the lively Psar Leu market before returning back to Siem Reap town .

Free morning; Afternoon Grand Circuit and Sunset over Angkor

Take advantage of a free morning to discover the Psar Chaa (Old Market) for local crafts and souvenirs. In the afternoon, we’ll return to Angkor by tuk tuk to explore more of the fascinating temples. Included in this tour is a stop at Ta Phrom, a quiet, sprawling monastic complex that is partly shrouded in jungle overgrowth where some of the best “tree-in-temple” photo opportunities are found. Ta Phrom is also the site of the famous Hollywood movie, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. In the evening, you will get a bird’s eye view of Angkor as the sun sets!

Phare, The Cambodian Circus

Free day in Siem Reap! Explore the local markets, museums, taste some great food, go shopping, or try one of the many amazing activities on offer. Tonight we will come together for dinner and a uniquely modern artistic Cambodian circus performance by Phare Performing Social Enterprise - a must-see in Cambodia!
