What was your volunteer project?

For my volunteer project we spent two weeks in the Andes planting paper trees at the base of a volcano. In addition, we helped local communities by picking up trash, helped local neighbors with farm work and taught local children English.

What was the most memorable moment of your ISV Program?

In all honesty there is not one moment that stands out more than the rest. The whole trip is something I will never forget. Everything from the volunteer work and having fun with other people in the program, to the adventure tour and meeting a whole set of new people and experiencing new adventures.

What was your favorite thing about your host country?

Ecuador is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. Being able to experience one of the world’s highest active volcanoes in the Andes mountains, to staying the night in the Amazon jungle in the same week let alone same country is one of the most amazing things to experience.

Why did you decide to travel with ISV?

When I saw ISV’s quote “Travel with a purpose” it really struck me. I wanted to do something new, exciting, fun and meaningful, and ISV fit the description to the tee.
